After a short break, the Tesla Referral program returned in 2025. And going into 2026, Tesla keeps us guessing on what’s to come. If you’re in the market for a new Tesla, you might get up to a $1,000 discount. But for a while now, Tesla has only been only offering a bonus FSD subscription for the lower cost cars.
For the Model S, X, and Cybertruck, there are different discounts. Tesla keeps changing them and to see the current offers, you’ll need to click a Tesla referral link below.

Referral Program: Updated Tesla Codes
Starting out with the new Tesla referral program, you could get a $1,000 discount when buying any Tesla. For the person’s code you use, they also got $500 in Tesla credits. And a heads up, each Tesla owner is limited to 10 referrals per calendar year.
However, Tesla keeps changing the referral bonuses. For the Model Y and 3, you might only get three months of full self-driving for free or for the Model S, X, and Cybertruck, I’m still seeing a $1,000 discount. Also, for the referrer, it’s dropped down to a $250 credit. For the most up-to-date offers, check the Tesla codes below.

You don’t have to manually enter a code. Instead, clicking on the Tesla referral link should apply the discount. You’ll see the discount applied on the page it brings you to. If you’re buying a Model S, 3, X, or Y, the link should work. And it didn’t originally include a discount for the Cybertruck…
That made sense since demand was high, and supply was still ramping up. Going forward, Tesla will continue to change its cars’ prices and discounts accordingly.

Tesla Order to Delivery Time
These were my referrals after Tesla relaunched the program. Initially, it sparked a lot of buying demand.

Average Delivery Time: 6.75 days
With the price charts I linked to above, you can see the full Tesla price history. You can buy a new Tesla near the lowest price they’ve ever been. It drops even further if you adjust for inflation (a dollar today is worth less than a few years ago).
But will Tesla prices drop further? With this small data set, it might be likely. This recent referral program likely moved some orders forward. And the average time from ordering a Tesla to delivery was less than a week.
There’s a chance that people had to push back their delivery dates as well. When I ordered my Model Y in 2023, it was a six-hour drive to the nearest showroom. And to plan for picking it up, I had to push back my delivery day.
This is a small sample, but it’s info not many people have. I also don’t know the locations for these orders. There could be a lot of variability based on the area. Nonetheless, with essentially a $1,000 price cut (via the referral discount), time from order to delivery isn’t long. This might indicate some small price cuts ahead.
New Tesla Discounts and Price Cuts
I doubt we’ll see more big price cuts for Tesla Model Y or Model 3 anytime soon. As mentioned, we might see a few small price cuts. Or maybe other incentives like the Tesla referral program. Tesla has already been using lower financing to bring in more buyers.
For an even lower cost Tesla, there are rumors for a Tesla Model 2. But I’ve been hearing about that for a few years and Tesla has already launched a dedicated Tesla robotaxi.
The largest Tesla price cuts in the past (20% cut in a single day) came around the same time as the changes to $7,500 tax credits. That was at the start of 2023 and jumping forward, the tax credit expired at the end of September 2025. Tesla then introduced a lower cost standard model, but it wasn’t enough to offset the full tax credit. Here’s the full Model Y Price History.
